2012 Closson Chase South Clos Chardonnay. Lovely wine from Prince Edward County. As one critic noted, "Serious chardonnay for serious wine drinkers."
2018 Union Sacré Pinot Noir Squire
2001 Conterno-Fantino Sori Ginestra - Very advanced, drink up!
2017 Val Llach Embruix off wine list. Tasty as always
10 Year Offley Tawny Port
2001 Aldo Conterno Barolo Cicala - gorgeous, with plenty of life ahead of it. Maybe at peak now.
2010 Flowers Perennial

I'm a big fan of Closson Chase chards but jeez I hope no one ever refers to me as a 'serious wine drinker'. 🤪

OK.
2006 Querce Bettina Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. Opening pe-2009 bottles from QB is always an adventure because of widespread cork issues, but this bottle was perfectly on point. Dark red fruit and florals on the nose with secondary notes of earth and dried cherry on the palate. Great lift and balance. Cork was solid and soaked about a third of the way. Happy to have a few more of these and will likely consume within a year or two.

2001 Conterno-Fantino Vigna del Gris - I had the 01 Sori Ginestra a couple of nights ago which got me to open the Vigna del Gris. It was also quite advanced, although not as much as the Sori Ginestra. My cellar is passive but I wouldn't wait any longer to have either wine.
Both wines are massive reflecting their roots in Monforte but I found the Vigna del Gris a bit more floral (violets) in aroma and more spicy. Needs a strongly-flavoured meat to pair with.
2017 Hamilton Russell Chardonnay. Obviously too young but still very enjoyable this evening. Never disappoints.
2006 Joan Simo Les Eres- outstanding and ready
