I've tasted this at an event a few weeks ago. I don't have any formal notes but it reminded me of a Toaster Strudel with the fake icing sugar... lots of ripe, sappy blue and purple fruit with a note of creamy vanilla and icing sugar. To be honest, it was pretty nice... well structured and more refined than the nose would suggest on the palate, but still a bit disjointed. I think it has enough stuffing to develop into a nice Cali Cabernet.
I had the 2008 Caymus Cabernet last week at Lake Powell, Utah, and thought it was excellent. 92/94 points. I will cellar the other bottles for the future 2015-2020. The 2008 Special Selection should be significantly better, and I would imagine it would cellar much longer.

BTW, the wine store had a price of $52 on the Caymus and 15% off if you bought a 12 bottle case. My cost per bottle was less than $47, and I just couldn't pass it up. They didn't have any 2008 Special Selection.
