I am opening a bottle of this tonight. Was wondering If anyone can provide any recent tasting notes on this classic. Any help would be appreciated.

zinfanman--I think it'll be terrific! But according to the QC web site, the maturity window is 2006-2020, so it might be a little young! look here
You might consider leaving it in the cellar and just open a bottle of 2004 Martinelli G&L. It's a wow!

I haven't had one in several years, so I'll be eagerly awaiting your TN! Sorry that I'm no help to you right now. I'm sure it will be very nice, though, so enjoy.

I opened a bottle of this back in May, and found it still very tight, even w/an hour + of decanting. Give it 3-4 hours in the decanter, or take latour's advice.
BTW - muscular is an apt descriptor of the '99 QC.

Thanks for the link and the advice, I decanted it for two hours and found it still a little tight, but still a great wine!!!, found the usual vanilla and blueberry character and you were right, a muscular wine but with smooth polished tannins. I still have a bottle each of the 00' and 01', I think I will wait longer on those.
