A local restaurant here has a sign out front which promotes the specials of the day.  It is a place which is favored by elderly customers.  My wife and I joke that you must have a walker or cane to get in there.  The place is on the way to work.

Anyway, one day the sign said the special of the day was “Angels on Horseback.”  Neither of us knew what that was.  Looked it up. Apparently, there is an old French dish called Anges a Cheval.  The dish dates back to the late 1800’s.

It’s oysters wrapped in bacon. Can be prepared several different ways. Obvious wine match is Champagne.

Have you heard of this?
