You ever used the site? I signed up to do some research on my family before we went to Ireland as I'm predominantly Irish on both sides. Thought I might find a little something interesting for the trip, and actually found quite a bit. Good stuff if you ever want to look back at your past.

yes, I have used Ancestry to look back a few generations to learn more about my kinfolk. I really enjoyed reading the census reports from the early 1900s--from them I learned the occupations, ages and, in some cases, the real names (!) of relatives who apparently decided to call themselves something else. The process of searching can be very addictive--a good way to spend a rainy weekend.
I lucked out and had a distant cousin who did the research several years ago. He published quite a tome, that several family members bought. It traces our family all the way back to two brothers who landed here from County Antrim, Ireland in 1730.

My daughter is currently using Ancestry.com to trace her mother's side, and has uncovered a few fairly scandalous ancestors.
No surprise to me, knowing my wife's family. Roll Eyes
It's an awesome site. We found our grandparents that came to this country in the late 1800's from Austria & Hungary, we also located where they lived in PA (it's a freeway now). There was a incredible amoout of information on both of them.
