I've just been able to obtain a Sine Qua Non Syrah (Poker Face) for the first time, and I'm wondering what a suggested drinking window might look like. Parker's notes seem to indicate that it's accessible immediately and for 15 years or so (this is the '04 vintage), but I'm hoping to get a second opinion, etc. Any help would be much appreciated. (I've got a few, fwiw.)

As you've never had an SQN before, pop it now to see what all the fuss is about. If you like, buy more before prices rise. SQN drinks well young and with some age. But, why wait a year when you have no benchmark? Pop it and see how you like it...

good one.

SQN Syrah's are selling for 350-800 plus.

The current SQN's, "Into the Dark & Poker Face" can be purchased for about $300 easily through Winecommune. In time, they too will sell for closer to $400. So, if someone likes the wine, it's better for them to buy it sooner than later.
Pomerollvr and Wino90210,
Your points are well taken, but a) I do have more than one, b) no - I'm not going to drop $300+ at auction when I got these for well under $200, and c) I'm really just trying to get a feel for the drinking window on this. I agree that it's better to buy sooner than later, but I'm done for this vintage. Thanks for the responses.
