Beckmen is located a little southeast of Los Olivos in a pretty area of homes and horse farms. We arrived early as per our appointment and I believe all wines were opened just prior to tasting. The wines and brief notes:

2006 Estate Sauvignon Blanc: $16, light citrus nose, crisp, 84

2005 Le Bec Blanc: $20, Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, rich, complex, 90

2006 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Grenache Rose: $18, crisp with some depth, 86

2005 Cuvee Le Bec: $18, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Counoise, rich dark fruit nose and flavors to match, young, great QPR, 89-90

2005 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: $28, peppery nose, blackberry flavors, 89

2004 Estate Syrah: $25, a lot of spice and pepper, baked fruit flavors, 87

2005 Estate Syrah: $25, wet earth nose, balnced, elegant for so young a wine, 87

2005 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Grenache: $40, spice overpowers fruit, balance may come with age, 84?

Beckmen's strength seems to be in their Rhone varietals. In addition to the Le Bec Blanc, I've had their Marsanne a few times and enjoyed it. The Cuvee Le Bec shows great promise but is not a wine for youthful consumption.
