Surprisingly enjoyable for an off vintage. I have followed this property since the '94 vintage and have found that their offerings display a more pronounced fruit profile than some. The '97 was no different.

Currant and dark berry on the nose and palate, complimented by a familiar Bordeaux mineral component on the finish. Full bodied and relatively well extracted, yet open enough in structure to suggest that its best is now. Tannins are present but in balance. Deserves 87-88 pts IMO. Perhaps not the best QPR at $38 (release price), but compared to what I have been encountering with samples from my stashes of '95 and '96, a much better choice for current consumption.

riddler,

i opened one of these up a couple weeks ago and totally agree with your 87-88 and ok now assesment. This was a good "bargin" in a thin pickins vintage (I only bought this Palmer and Cos that year). Thanks for the TN
