....I Capitelli.
This wine was a gift from Dr DRAB while visiting San Francisco.
Dark reddish amber in color.
"Legs" were not easily defined, they were rather random. I tried a traditional "sherry" glass, a small (8oz) wine glass and a 26oz "bordeaux" glass. The "legs" were very similar.
There was a very nice stewed prune nose, which showed a little honey as the wine got warmer.
The taste was of candied quince, surprisingly light.
There was enough acidity in the wine to balance the sugar.
The finish had a bittersweet taste of burnt caramel and was long lasting.
The wine was served at the end of a meal.
For a numerical rating, probably a 90+
Thank you Dr DRAB, a wine we all enjoyed very much!!!
