Im pretty sure if they had an alternative, they would act differently. You have to adapt or create serious problems for the region.

Funny, I see the percentages listed often.  Follow this link: CLICKY..... and select "oenological sheet," for one example.

Right. But until recently they weren't allowed to put it on the bottle label. When they changed the French AOC to the AOP, one of the changes was allowing producers to include varietal composition on the labels. Before you were just supposed to know the wines allowed in the AOC.
