5 days in Barcelona- need recommendations for hotels, restaurants, wineries

Botafumeiro is a great seafood restaurant. Pretty elegant. Waiters in tuxedos.

If you are into architecture, you'll want to go to the various Gaudi designed buildings.  You'll want to go to the Sagrada Familia, a cathedral which has been under construction since about 1885 or so.  They say it will be finished in around 25-30 more years.  I was not crazy about the Picasso museum, but that's just me.  The Penedes region is not far for winery visits. 

I'm sure if you use the search function here, and just type in Barcelona, you'll get a bunch of recommendations.

Hotel Arts is very nice but the location is not good unless you want resort experience vs. city experience.  Cannot walk anywhere

Barri Gothic is fine in my opinion.  On our last visit, we stayed on the Ramblas - close to but not in the Gothic quarter.

We stayed at the Majestic and enjoyed it, especially the rooftop bar.

Stayed at the 'OLD' Ritz now called the El Palace Hotel Barcelona.  Loved it.  Also has a great scorch bar in the basement.   Meals good also.  Agree with balance of Irwin's comments, especially Botafumeiro - Best seafood and service in the world.  Also a great list.

Stayed at the Renaissance on our honeymoon last fall.  Really liked the hotel and the location.  One of the more interesting and inventive meals we had was at Ten's Tapas.  Really really good.

If you have a car, head down to Falset and check out the Priorat and Montsant regions.  Far more interesting wines than most anything in Penedes, where I understand you get the wine tour bus crowd, if you catch my drift. 

I agree re Priorat etc. but we did have an amazing visit at Mas Comtal in Penedes - very good wine, amazing location and nice people

Actually it depends what you like. I think Gaudi's Sagrada Familia Cathedral is one of the most amazing sights I've ever seen, well worth a visit. Las Ramblas is a long, colorful boulevard, pretty much pedestrianized, full of street art, buskers, flowers etc. The Boqueria Market is a must-see.  I am also planning my trip to Barcelona once this covid mess ends (have been preparing documents for visa by means of https://thewordpoint.com/langu...translation-services ) . Be sure to visit el barrio gotio (the old Gothic quarter) which is enchanting' Try Sagrada Familia (Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece - also take a little tour of Gaudi's other works around the city) Try Barceloneta (the old port area- has a beautiful beach and plenty of good seafood restaurants) Try a stroll along La Ramblas - such a pleasant way to spend an hour or two. I could go on and on because Barcelona is one of my favorite destinations. Have a great time!

Go to Cal Pep for lunch. Arrive 20 minutes before they open.
