I love how difficult this course is playing.  A far cry from the conditions in November, obviously.

I think Rose will fade over the next couple days; not enough reps in recent months to sustain a high-level of play.

Watch out for Reed and Fleetwood.

On a side note: I won't be surprised if McIlroy never wins another major championship.

I bet with a friend every year on the Masters. The bet works like this:  Before Thursday, we each pick three players. At the end of the tournament, you add up the prize money for your three and the guy whose three person team has the greatest total prize money is the winner.  The loser buys the winner a beer.

Anyway, my three players this year: Patrick Cantley, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka, have all missed the cut.   Oh well.

Cantlay was my second pick in a Masters pool I joined.

Schauffele, my first pick, is my only hope at winning; maybe Lowry, if he can make a move today.

Pretty classy to see Matsuyama's caddie return the flag to the 18th hole, and take his hat off, and bow respectfully at the hole.

I have spent a lot of time in Japan thanks to my Taiwanese-Japanese wife, so I appreciate and have experienced the culture a lot.  But even I got goosebumps when I saw that.  Just a beautiful sign of respect and gratitude that you don't see here.
