Young. At first there is a whiff of high quality oak but underneath that is pineapple and a hint of lime zest and salinity on the nose. The palate has those flavors plus dry honey leading to a very long finish with just a hint of heat. I’ll follow this over the next few hours, it’s been open an hour but not decanted. I think it’s great now but will be better in 7 or 8 years. 93(+?)

After another couple of hours of bottle air the wine is more complete and the oak is more integrated, though there is still a little heat on the long finish. If opening soon, I suggest decanting for an hour or two in advance. Edit: by the end of the night the wine was showing the telltale butterscotch of white Hermitage.
Thanks for the note. The only Ex Voto that I’ve had was the 2001 which was the inaugural release. It was excellent.
