Strawberry, maybe grapefruit but a citrusy freshness and earthy and dusty. Deep berry fruit in the finish, a bit musky with tar and little mineral and some pastry. I have never had a mavroudi before but this makes me think of malbec from Loire/Cahors or at times even Rioja and maybe even mourvedre. I had a limnio from this producer last time and I like it but it was one of those wines that needed a little air. This is just purely delicious right upon opening and does nothing but improve. 92, a stunning beauty! Don't sleep on Greek reds if you are a wine lover!
