I have only tasted a few 2016s (Continuum and the new Steltzner family bottles), but they were all great. At both places, they seemed to think it would be a classic vintage that tops all of the recent vintages. And it wasn't a sales pitch to me, as both were in friendly environments with family (as opposed to a tasting). So quality-wise, I think there is a strong feeling that 2016 was glorious.
As per the the style, I think that tends to be location/winemaker/blend specific. In the case of Continuum, there is quite a bit of cab franc and petit verdot.
AZ's take on this is spot on. Across the board 16 is going to be a great vintage for Napa. Some are approachable now...but I personally like to wait for a min of 5 years after vintage to get into. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this vintage.
