2014 Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon (3/13/2018)
-- decanted 30 min before first taste --
-- tasted non-blind over 2 – 3 hours on Day 1; tasted again on Day 5 --

NOSE: tart red fruits; carbonic; high-toned; savory; stemmy aspect; not bretty; a bit chalky after 2 hours open. Still excellent on Day 5.

BODY: lots of medium-fine particulate matter present; violet-garnet color of medium-deep depth; {forgot to note weight}

TASTE: red-fruited; savory (stems?); high acidity; garrigué on the finish; not tannic; moderate concentration of fruit; red currants and plums; not as "grapey" as usual; excellent, but not the best vintage/bottle for this bottling. gut impression score: 92.
