We had this over the holidays, certainly an interesting wine. Professional reviews range from WS90 to 94 and 95. Cellartracker pegs this at about 91 I think. The higher reviews indicate polish, elegance, and refinement. Some of the cellartracker folks aren't impressed because it doesn't "Wow' them. It can be called medium bodied.
I think that is exactly the point. I don't find many wines that are so perfectly and intricantly balanced and refined. All is in harmony here, no "Wow" factor required. At 8 years old, this will go a long, long while. Everything is there, understated.....but there...Fruit, tannin, acidity, oak, a bit herbs, a tiny bit of the iron and mintiness found at Coonawarra. There is a winemaker down under who knows exactly what she/he is doing.
I have one more of these, will wait 3 years minimum.
