I'm willing to bet one of my pricier wines that the Yankees will win the World Series before the Red Sox do.

I think most people would consider 2000 to be the start of the 21st Century.

Most people would be wrong about that too clicky

I'm certainly willing to take that bet but the last Yankee's fan I made a bet for a bottle of wine with up and disappeared, cheap suit and all, after losing and never paid up.

If your definition of best includes the most vulgar and racist bleacher um, bums, then yes.

If your definition of best means the most history, then yes.

If your definition of best means sight lines inside the park, views outside the park, beauty of the setting, and amenities, then no....

Too bad the new Marlins ballpark won't be in Miami Beach...cause it would have the views outside the park (bikinis, etc) and in terms of setting 2nd to none.
Well well. Looks whos climbed up to a second place tie and is poised to take their spot atop the AL East after they beat the NY Stinkee's this weekend. Their offense is comming around and their pitching is still second to none. Joba the Drunk will come in and throw at Youk's head for no reason and hopefully get the same treatment Beckett got. I'm predicting the Sox follow the Bruin's lead and get the brooms out as they take over first place by Sunday night.
They'll be out of the hunt because their spot will be secured already. And I've already stated my thoughts on Papi, you're not breaking any news there but imagine if he actually comes around and isn't washed up.

I can't speak for fellow Sox fans but I'll be here to post. If they suck I'll say they suck and if they don't I'll probably rub it in a little. I'm an admitted Boston sports homer but I prefer to let the facts form my opinions most of the time. In my experience it's the Yankee fans who disapear when things don't go their way. Which reminds me, if anyone see's a dishevelled bum outside of Yankee Stadium wearing a cheap suit, begging for a ticket to the game, a bottle of wine and going by the name of Wize Wizzard tell him I want my shiraz from last year.
I swear the Red Sox all have mistresses down in Tampa. Something always screws them up when they're down there lately. It was nice to see the Sox take a page from the Yankees playbook too and bring in the utility guy to pitch the 9th. I was much happier seeing him pitch and Lopez play right.

Beckett and Lester under performing and Dice-K on his way back from the DL. If these three guys ever pull it together this will be quite a team. Otherwise they'll probably just be good enough to take the AL East.
Texiera: 182 3HR and 10 RBI
Sebathia: 1W-3L w/ 4.85 ERA

Glad that's not my $65,500,000.00 out there. 7 Teams dont even put that much into their entire payroll and at least a few of them should be playoff tems, which the Yankee's will not.

Minnesota Twins $65,299,267
Tampa Bay Rays $63,313,035
Oakland Athletics $62,310,000
Nationals $59,328,000
Pirates $48,743,000
San Diego Padres $42,796,700
Florida Marlins $36,814,000
Icewino - It's funny that you keep harking on the way the Yankees spend money but don't realize that your team were also in the running for the same players. The fact is that the Yankees spent a only few million dollars more than the Red Sux. These two players realize who the better franchise is and which team will give them the best chance of winning the championship each year. The Yankees are all for the salary cap and the minimum payroll. However these same teams that you mention having the lowest payrolls were also the biggest opponents of the level playing field. They'd rather keep the tax the Yankees pay versus spending it on players. So quit your whining like a little beaatch.

I don't consider statement of facts and putting down the Yankee's whining. Are you sure you're not Wine Wizzard under a new name, You take my criticizm of the Yankee's like it has anything at all to do with you personally.

Also recent history suggest you're wrong about who gives the better chance at winning, or even getting into the playoffs. Saying the Yankee's are for a level playing field is a flat out lie and quite a laugh. They vote against it every time it's even discussed.

I'm glad the Sox spend more effort and money on the farm system and player development than the Yankee's ever will. That's what keeps them ahead of your pin stiped losers. Finally if you conside the yankee's 201 million dollar payroll this year only a "few million more" than the Sox 121 million you're retarded.

First of all, I have no idea who your imaginary friend is. But I've offlined with several people on this board, so they can vouch for my authenticity. So to make this season a little worthwhile, I'm willing to wager a bottle of wine that the Yankees will have a better record than the Red Sox. You let me know how much you are comfortable with.

Second, the spend $$$ that I was referring to was for the two players -- Texeira and Sabathia -- that you mentioned in your earlier post. To clarify, Texeira was signed for $180M and Sabathia $161M. You may also include Burnett in the conversation. My point is that the Red Sux were also trying to sign the same players. Yes, the Yankees outbid them but not by much. The fact is these players chose the Yankees and not the Red Sux. You may delude yourself to think that the Red Sux would rather develop their players. That's BS. Let's see how many more championships the Red Sux win in your lifetime.
