3-0 baby!!! Now how you can like 2 teams in the same division is another thing Smile

I was born and rasied in North Palm Beach so I was growing up when the Braves had their spring training in West Palm Beach. My dad and I would always go to games every year, even on a school day which is a big deal when you are 10. They will always be my favorite team because of the memories. However, I am a big Marlins fan. You gotta love the home team. I go to 8-10 games a year. That will change when they move to the old orange bowl site though. Joe Robbie Stadium is so easy to get to from West Palm; Orange Bowl, not so much.
Hey, that's no excuse. I grew up going to Red Sox and Tigers spring games and I can't stand the Sox and could care less for the Tigers.

No doubt the new location will be worse for me as well. Easy to get to now from P.Pines when I visit. Was really easy for me when I was living in Miramar..but...oh well. I can't get to many anymore anyway, so having a "real" baseball stadium will convince to check it out when I can.

I do plan on catching them when they are up at the Dump that is Tropicana.

That is one horrible story. 3 dead in a collision with a light poll was all I heard on the radio. Is there any more to it? Was it on an expressway or high speed road? Horrible either way, I just can't picture that much damage near a downtown intersection or similar road.

hit and run with a minivan that ran a red light in an intersection... driver has a history of suspended licenses/DUI. fortunately they were caught by police... but not much more you can say

wow, watched the Angel game with my kid last night and him & I are going to Saturday's game with the Red Sox. Guess I have some explaining to him after school today. How sad for everyone.

This one hits close to home. Nick's half-brother, Henry, goes to high school with my kids. Nick was around a lot, and was very well liked by everybody that knew him. I've attached a link to a local story about how the local kids reacted to the news.
After reading about the Adenhart tragedy, I watched Giants rookie pitcher Joe Martinez take a line drive to the head off the bat of Mike Cameron. He was able to walk off but he was bleeding and badly swollen, and was taken to the hospital - no broken bones, but he was concussed. Cameron was very shaken up (he was literally shaking) and needed to be consoled by several Giants and teammates....

I was at the game also. It was a terrible thing to see, and it was obvious how shaken up everyone was.
Feels good to take 2 of 3 from the "Jr. Evil Empire" over the weekend. Especially stealing one from Santana. Good thing JJ had the Mets number and we could get 2 unearned runs through early.

I have high hopes the Marlins starters will be able to keep them in alot of games. Nice to see that JJ and Sanchez seem healthy...just hope they can make it the whole year.

How does everyone out in Mannywood feel after hearing he'd like to play for Cleveland before his career is over after they outbid themselves to get him for 45 million?

my feeling:

as long as we get +/-145 games, .300 100/30/100 out of him and he's his usual clutch self this season & the playoffs, have fun in Cleveland

its really 1 year, $15m for 2009 and he can walk after that with the player option for $25m in 2010, and im fine with that... manny being manny
Yankees: In the offseason the Yankees signed millions of dollars worth of pitching. So, last night they bring in Nick Swisher, first baseman, who walks the first guy, gives up a single, and then strikes out the third guy, gets the fourth on a pop up to 2nd base, and then a routine fly to end the inning.
Swisher is currently batting .450, has 3 HRs, 10 RBIs and a 0.00 ERA.
Remarkable.
Rule #1 - Gators come first in any discussion. College football is always king to me.

Who plays for the Bucs these days? LOL...I just hope they can compete this year.

While I'm worried about the Marlins bullpen and their propensity to strikeout...7-1 baby!!!!

I did just realize why I hate the Braves so much....its that annoying song they play during the game. Makes me think I'm watching a Semenhole game!! Big Grin
