2009 Merry Edwards Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc

Who knew? At the winery they said that Merry had not made a late harvest wine in 30 years. I am no expert at late harvest wines but this oneis bottled in 375ml size and priced at $39. Big fruity nose, fills up a room. 13.6% alcohol. Coats the mouth and lingers with a long finish. Very nice.

Recently placed two into the cellar. I am really looking forward to trying this wine.

I thought it was delicious and would have no problem opening one now. But then again, I am no late harvest specialist.

Had this again tonight. What a fantastic wine! Lots of green apple and some sweet tropical notes on the nose, smokey and with light oak. None of the cat pee type SB. Medium acidity but enough to keep it fresh. Very long and very enjoyable. 94 points.

You don't see many CA LH sauvignon blancs out there. Last one I had was a '96 Voss, which was a very, very nice wine for $18 (at the time

Husch makes a pretty good one. I don't know if they make it every year.

Just had my first of the two bottles in my cellar. Agree with this note completely but add a hint of vanilla.
