2006 Domaine Grand Nicolet Rasteau Vieilles Vignes - Wow!

Tasted double-blind, 4/24/09, in a lineup that was open to all Rhone reds except Chateauneuf-du-Pape. (Also, nobody brought any expensive Hermitages or Cote-Roties, save for one that I never got to taste.)

Gorgeous dark cassis & kirsch fruit w/gentle char notes folded in; lavish, luscious fruit; harmonious & long finish. Out of about 15 wines in a double-blind lineup, this was my WOTN.
