2005 Sineann Phelps Creek PN

I was a big fan of their 2002 and 2003 versions and bought half a case of this without having tasted it previously so decided to open one tonight with braised duck. Opened an hour before pouring and did not decat and probably should have. As expected, this wine is muted and too young right now, but the flavors of earth, cherry and berries with a nice smoky undertone are definitely there. A bit more finesse and nuance than previous vintages. Glad I bought a few of these - they will be wonderful in 5-6 years I think.
