Its inky black color belies its somewhat light body. The ripe cherries and sage aroma is echoed on the palate by black cherries, sage and white pepper accented by some serious tobacco notes. Relatively light and unconcentrated, this is a refreshing counterpoint to the jammy (not that I'm complaining) wines that have become the norm for South America.

B/B+ for $8? Major QPR action.
