i was spurred on to try this after having recently sampled the 04' Ramey Hyde
popped & consumed (by the glass @ a wine bar)
cloudy, creamy yellow coloring... softer nose of vanilla coated citrus fruits... medium to lighter bodied, with subtle lemony & other citrus fruits wrapped by musty, creamed vanillan on the palate, lingering new oak, brown spices with a touch of fruit on the finish... a very nice drink and not very far off from the Ramey, but a completely different style, evidently manipulated, without the purity of fruit the Ramey exhibited, yet still a very tasty Chard without question
given its price tag in the high $40's, i'd be more apt to purchase the Ramey without hesitation if the two were up against each other (apologies for the direct comparison to the Ramey Hyde, but i felt it was fitting & relevant)...
