2004 Oreana Santa Barbara Pinot

Tasted on February 18, 2007. Purchased from Costco for approx. $20. Initial nose was of big oak and blueberry. Within 2 hours, it really didn't open up much. Fruit was there but the oak overpowered it. Alcohol was balanced. This is an example of "there is no such thing as a good pinot under $40." I have had the Oreana Central Coast Pinot for $8-9 before and I liked that one much better than the Santa Barbara bottling. Would pass. BD83
