Opened and decanted several hours, a dark ruby red color with heavy body. From the nose there were aromas of crushed rocks, minerality, graphite, chocolate and raspberries. It tasted of chocolate, blackberry, tobacco and minerals. The wine is a little on the hot side, which is not really a surprise given its 14.9% alcohol. This one will probably be at its best from 2010 to 2014, I am not sure if I would let this one go past 12 years of age. When it is at its peak, it will be an excellent wine to say the least.
