clear ruby coloring... gentle nose of dusty cherries, creamy caramel, & some subtle floral notes as well... smooth & lush on the palate, with sweet red cherries dominating, slight red licorice & and roses through to a dry finish... not bad, mmmm 90

attractive but interesting style, not as full blown as a CA Pinot but not anything like a silky Burgundy, i'd probably peg this as Oregon if i was tasting blind.

the mid-palate definitely wasn't hollow... maybe simple, but not lacking. it was just interesting, it tried to be juicy and full while being soft & silky at the same time. i'm definitely going to buy another bottle and try it again.

just for reference, another 02' NZ Marlborough Pinot i like is Whitehaven, and this was definitely a little more fuller & dry than that.
