This wine was a gift from Roger Simo of Vall Llach. His friend is the winemaker at Sangenis I Vaque. This wine is not imported into the United States. The winery is located on the main square of Porrera. The labels are in Spanish or Catalan and I was able to make out that the wine consists of old vine Garnacha and Cariñena. It underwent a 31 day maceration and was aged one year in new French oak.

The wine had a powerful nose of spice and baked fruit with a hint of heat (15% alcohol). On the palate, the wine was quite youthful with great richness and concentration. The tannins are still a bit rough and slightly dominate the lush plummy flavors of rhubarb and dark berries. Already a great pleasure to drink, this wine is sure to improve with a few more years in the bottle. It's a pity this wine isn't available in the United States. 89-93
