60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Sangiovese.

Dark ruby/purple colour to a violet rim. Aromas of cherry, plum, cedar, oak, vanilla, and raspberry. Medium-full bodied with plum, cedar, and vanilla. Moderate finish, ~25s. Lots of wood in this wine. Tannins are quite present. Hopefully a couple more years will allow the wine to integrate better. Would have thought it was a Bordeaux, not California due to the cedar notes. 87 points (10/31/2004).

Thanks for the notes. I've been wondering about the Omaggio. I have some of the 2002 and hope it shows better than the '99 in a few years!

I have 3 bottles of the 99 and have been wondering whether I should open one. Appreciate the heads up and will let them sleep a while longer.
