dang it, I hit the "post button too soon. . .

continued, Pecchenino Dolcetto

Smells like borderline over-ripe blueberry/blackberry juice with lots of fennel bulb aromas.

Fat, fruity and luscious quaffing stuff. Tired of Merlot but like the plump, fprward fruit and supple mouthfeel? This may be your wine. A definite buy. Don't know the cost a firend of a friend brought it by and I didn't think ut appropriate to ask, but it couldn't be too much.
cdr11, the wine you describe was the one I had maybe three years ago. The Pecchennino Dolcettos were beautifully lush, fruit forward and rich back then. However maybe a year ago, my 1998's have gone downhill. The fruit has gone and they dried out completely. I was always wondering about the aging potential of these modern-style Dolcettos. I still think that they have to be drunk very young.
