- 1996 Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne Grand Cru Le Mesnil - France, Champagne, Le Mesnil Sur Oger, Champagne (4/25/2008)
4th Annual Italian Offline Pre-Game - Champagne and Bordeaux (Sweets & Savories, Chicago, USA): Light-medium gold colour. Aromas of oatmeal biscuit/yeast, cream, lemon, apple, and toasted brioche. Medium-full bodied, crisp, great texture, with nuts, brioche, apple, lemon, oatmeal, and flowers on the palate. Long finish, ~40+s, with more apple, brioche, and nutty notes. Medium-gold colour. Aromas of lemon, apple, acacia flowers, pear, vanilla. Medium-full bodied with replays from nose and some hazelnut notes. Moderate-finish, ~30-35s, with pear, apple, and lemon. Not the best 1996 from Feuillatte, but still tasty. I much prefer the Cramant, Ay, and Verzy. (91 pts.)
