Dark garnet, almost opaque colour. Aromas of black cherry, cedar, plums, earth, and spice. Medium-bodied with spice, cherry, and earth notes. Moderate finish with red fruits and cedar. Drinking at its peak right now. 90-91 points (08/05/2004).

Futronic was certainly the odd man out at our off-line last week when it came to this wine. Most of us were at least 2-3 points higher than him. As usual, though, he's the only one with detailed notes!

I had this wine a year ago and it was way past its prime. It must have been stored wrong.

This wine was absolutely gorgeous. No sign of age.
Personally, I scored it a 95 as did other forumites. I suspect that the bottle you had was
at some point stored improperly. If you have an opportunity, try it again. You won't be disappointed.

I plan on opening a magnum this weekend. Any advice on decanting? Decanting for sediment only? No decant at all? I guess we can open and play it by ear.

Auction bottle so who knows, but really impressive fill, well into the neck, fairly pristine label, looks well cared for so I am hopeful!
