What a wine this was. 1964 was a good vintage in this part of France and the color on this wine defied its age. If you had told me this was a 1994 I would say ok. The primary flavors of beef, mushrooms and savory spices were enveloped by noticeable but integrated acidity. The nose was a bit bloody in a good way. It was decanted for sediment and enjoyed over 1 hour, with the last taste at 3 hours. It was perfect with my Chateaubriand and onion soup. I wish I could find this wine on the open market. I believe that H. Debost stopped making wine many years ago. 94pts.
