1962 H. Debost Hermitage

After the Cote Rotie we decided to get another 375ml at Bern's and this was also excellent. Decanted for sediment and enjoyed over 2 hours. This wine made you understand that the acidity and how it relates to the food on the table. The fruit was bright and long on the palate. Again the color was amazing. If anyone is interested in seeing the wines colors email me at justinhome at msn dot com and I will send them to you. I got Iris on the nose. A big part of this wine was the rhubarb and strawberry on the palate as it aired out. Both wines needed 15+ minutes for some funk to blowoff. For a negociant winery these guys hit out of the ballpark in the early 1960s. 93pts.
