1959 Pichon Longueville Lalande

A very attractive bottle of wine.

The nose was very aromatic, offering truffle, dried herbs and hints of cedar. The nose carried over to the palate, and also giving up cassis,plum,cedar and black olive on the finish. I picked up much more cedar on the bouquet with my last glass.

This bottle was drinking very well, and a joy to enjoy with good friends.

Well noted.

Hours in glass never altered this wine but for the better. It ran strong until the final drops.

A wonderful wine and a grand experience to drink side-by-side with its' 1982 younger sibling.

Truffles in a bottle. The nose was captivating and the palate matched the nose more than any wine I have ever had with this much age on it. I kept a sip in my glass until late in the evening and the wine did fade a little (splitting hairs) as the acidity became very predominant.

Thanks for allowing me to share this with great friends.

Phenomenal! Truffles galore. For the first time, I understand what they mean when they say "sous bois". I just thought that was futronic sniffing the ground when he was drunk at the pinery.Great finish and a pleasure to share with such great friends.
