Lagavulin 1989 double matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry wood. A dessert-Lagavulin
I haven't seen that, not even in Scotland. I'm guessing it's fairly expensive. Is it worth the money?
It's the Lagavulin Distillers Edition and it's not that much more expensive than the regular 16y. About 50-60€ if i remember well. Should not be that difficult to find in specialised shops or even in supermarkets with a good range of malts. Maybe the actual version of distillers edition is >1989, but it should be the same Pedro-Ximenez wood style. Definately worth a try at the price. Is it better than the 16y? A matter of taste, i prefer the PX version.
