Yesterday we went to an early lunch at Pizzeria Mozza for my mother in-laws 58th b-day. We started with fried squash blossoms, cauliflower fritti (so good), arancine alla bolognese, meatballs al forno (best thing I had all day) and bruschette with burrata, balsamic and roasted spring onions. We shared 3 pizza’s including an egg, bacon and yukon gold pizza, a goat cheese, leek, scallion pizza and a salame, tomato and fresno chile pizza. Crust is great on these pizzas, but they get a little watery towards the middle. Overall a great lunch. Picked a nice franciacorta off the list and brought a bottle of 2009 Giorgio Pelissero Barbera d'Alba Piani that paired well with everything.
