Went to the local festival and saw a good amount of music. Headliners were Kings of Leon (meh), Dave Matthews Band (great), and Mumford (awesome). It’d been about 15 years since I’d seen DMB, and they still rock. Second time seeing Mumford this year, and they are amazing live. They covered NIN’s “Hurt” which was really cool to hear. Also really enjoyed seeing Bryan Adams, Duran Duran, and the Cult for the first time. Wu Tang was good, Snoop was fun, and Maren Morris is going to be huge. Decent lineup this year, but easily the weakest of the 5 versions that have taken place so far. They are moving the festival to the Padres stadium next year...not sure how it’ll work out.
Also saw Zac Brown a couple of weeks ago. They were great. Awesome musicians and great songwriters, especially compared to the more popular country acts right now.
I’m going to see St Paul and the Broken Bones on Thursday, and then getting back to my punk roots and seeing Bad Religion on Sunday.
