Glen Hansard
One of those nights you always remember and makes you realize live music can be absolutely magical. I go to a good number of concerts, this is easily top 10, maybe top seven. I'm not one for hyperbole, if he has any dates left within a few hours of you get tickets.
Very talented guy. I first saw him in The Commitments - a movie I always enjoy.
Saw Once on a plane - it was a perfect flight movie.
He had an 11 person band last night and honestly it was very reminiscent of the final gig in The Commitments movie except that everyone was friends and there was no fighting. Over the course of almost three hours he played his music, he played Van Morrison, he played Woody Guthrie and Joni Mitchell. They finished standing shoulder to shoulder across the front of the stage with The Auld Triangle a Capella (and without mikes) with every band member and eventually even the roadies each doing a stanza with the crowd responding with the chorus. Magical.
Sounds fantastic
