We never got around to formal tasting notes but I can say that the wine showed unexpected maturity for a relatively young vintage port. It was also sweeter than I remembered Dows to be, though I hadn't actually had one for a while. It was decanted about 8 hours before being first consumed.
We drank it over 5 days and it showed better on Day Two and was only starting to fade a bit on the last day, after being kept in a decanter covered tightly with plastic wrap since the first night.
For my tastes, I would let this one sleep a few years longer, unless you have several bottles, perhaps, as it will clearly further improve.
