Just finished Chances Are..., Richards Russo's first novel in a decade.
It takes place in September 2015, over a weekend get-together of three college friends who are now 66 years old and were are all part of the first Vietnam draft lottery. The absence of their fourth friend Jacy (each was in love with her) who disappeared after a similar get-together post-graduation looms over their weekend and weaves through the various narrative flashbacks.
It's solid (but not great) late career Russo and more like That Old Cape Magic than Empire Falls or his other novels.
Thanks. I liked Empire Falls a lot
