I'm reading an advance copy of a book called "Pinot Envy", a detective mystery fiction book by a wine writer, Edward Finstein.
I've only read the 1st 5 chapters and I figure I'll be done by the weekend. It has to do with the mysterious disappearance of a bottle of Chambertin.
There are lots of non-fiction books about wine. I don't recall encountering another fiction book where wine plays a central theme.
Finished the book. If you like the Lawrence Sanders series, this book is for you. It is not going to win the Nobel Prize for literature. It is really not so much about wine, actually. Yes, a bottle of Chambertin is stolen, but the book would have been the same, basically, if it had been a piece of jewelry.
Not a horrible book, but no better than an 80.
