A house. To be specific, the house my father-in-law built in the mid-50’s and that my wife and her siblings all grew up in. Her mom lived there until her passing in 2017. It sat in a trust since, and this spring my wife and I decided to buy it and keep it in the family. We closed today. There is a lot of reno to be done in stages, and we have two other places to sell. That said we’re happy to have finally decided where our permanent residence will be. It’s a very modest sized ranch but with a fill basement and a windowless room that was once a fruit cellar. It will be one again, in a sense. It is also in a great town with tree-lined streets, a train station, good restaurants, a nice independent wine store, coffee shops, brewpub and a kitchen store with cooking classes - all within easy walking distance. It will be an interesting journey but really looking forward to being able to entertain there at some point.
Living the dream Bill.
