Last night I opened a bottle of the DD '01 cab franc. This wine has blossomed into a really happy experience and the cellaring was worth the wait. After an initial tannic sip, I decanted and in an hour began my descent into decadence. Lip smacking well structured fruit still supported by an acid backbone and great tannins. This wine still has legs and I will wait another couple of years to open another.
