Finished the Mayacamas last night (night 4). Wine was in decanter, on the counter the entire time. No appreciable oxidation occured. The huge tannins have subsided, the wine is still tannic, but more enjoyable now. Acidity is still huge, still somewhat sours the tongue. The flavor profile to me is of a mid 80's cal cab that is falling from it's prime. I just don't know about this wine. As it drinks right now I'd have to rate it 76 points, but that just doesn't jive with what this winery has supposedly done and should be capable of. Maybe this is what great Bordeaux was like early in the century???
