TN: 2004 Louis Martini Lot No. 1 Cabernet

Louis Martini Lot No. 1 Cabernet 2004 Napa Valley
Discovered at B-21's big Bordeaux/Cabernet tasting earlier this month in Tarpon Springs. A real standout and a definite "Parker wine". Per the back label, "hand picked" and "hand sorted". 27 months in French Oak, 100% cabernet. 908 cases produced.

Loads of fruit-forward anise and boysenberries. Some plum notes. Hints of floral. Excellent depth. Substantial oak and tannic backbone to stand up to the fruit. Somewhat phenolic finish. Decanted close to an hour and poured through a standup aerator. Easily needs another 2-3 years to really meld. A classic, crafted cabernet.
