From a 375. 1 hr decant. Very dark, deep purple color. Nose has mostly lots of black currant, hint of licorice, a bit of sweet figs. The nose floats out of the glass... I love it when wine does that. Palate has medium weight, nice tannic structure that builds throughout the sip, a sweet kick just before the finish, and lots of black fruits/blackberry/black currant on the finish. Wine still has a good balance of acid and tannins that implies good development for a long time, but still approachable now. No real secondary characteristics yet... mostly primary, but certainly a very masculine wine. This wine is far better today than at my last tasting 1 year ago. 92-93 (93 pts.)
