In my opinion, New World Pinot does not even come CLOSE to Burgundy but that also does not help the original poster find a 2000 or 2003 value wine (Brunello, Pinot specified) that is somewhat easy to find.
Considering the STEMS indicated, Brunello OR Rosso are completely off track and outside the posters guidelines altogether.
Personally, at this point, I've no better suggestions than those given by VT2IT & PH.
How about a 2000 Ginestra, Vigna Casa Maté Barolo. I see a couple available for $75 @ HDH,Chicago.
