Some R & R at the cottage: 

1996 L Pira Barolo Marenca - over the hill, pooched, murky, dumped

NV Paul Dethune Brut Rose, Grand Cru - another great bottle

2007 Brewer Clifton Chard - Wonderful

2001 Brewer Clifton Chard - Also great, not quite as developed

2005 Louis Brochet HBH Brut - Great.  Toasty notes, rich, full.  This Champagne seems to be very consistent.  The 2005 is drinking nicely but has a long way to go imo

2015 Guigal Condrieu - Good pairing for pan seared scallops and homemade asparagus soup w Parm.  Big, unctuous, rich.  It needed time to open up and warm up a bit after being in the fridge, then was glorious.

1997 Bertani Amarone Classico - well integrated but remarkably fresh.  Tertiary notes just starting to show.  An example of why Bertani Amarone is great with some age on it.  Long life ahead still. Yum. 

2012 Pinson Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru - instant oyster, seashell, great minerality, white stone fruit.  Drinking beautifully but has a long way to go.  Great pairing with mixed beans with fennel & fresh oregano.

2018 Bruno Giacosa Roero Arneis - yum.

2017 Franco Conterno Barbera d'Alba - delicious and a good backup for the flawed 96 Marenca .
