I think that there are way more famous people these days, and that is one reason we hear of all of these deaths of famous people. Tons of movie stars, entertainers, ballplayers, politicians, scientists, and so forth.
I don't have any scientific data to back this up...just a feeling I have.

Maybe some truth to this in 30+years when today's "new famous" start croaking. Not today, though.

Don't forget Muhammad Ali, Gordie Howe, and Arnold Palmer, who were pioneers in their sports.
Don't remember ever a year with so many well known and talented people passing!
